A week of Emotions

Well this week was a week of emotions. Monday I don't really remember but Tuesday evening on my way home I got some really bad news. The bad news was that one of our Sunday school members had passed away. Emmie was 33yrs. old and 17 wks. due with her first child. In fact two weeks before she was at our home serving us good eats and checking out Bryson. It was then that we thought it almost looks like she is expecting so Nickie in a very girlie way said so whats new in your world girl? She had a huge smile and said I am expecting! We were of course very happy for her. The thing about that visit was that we did not know was that it would be the last time we would see her alive. Unfortuanately on Tuesday morning Emmie was rushed to the ER and for two hours the doctors tried to bring her back but were unable to do so. We don't know the exact details but we believe it was an ectopic pregnancy. The other sad thing we heard second hand was that she called the day before saying she had pains and the Dr. said that it was just par for the course. Another DR. who does't know everything. So we as sunday school class have pulled together amazingly and have and are standing in the wings waiting for the family and the church to do its thing.
Then we as a class will step back in. We have already started working on schedules and things to do for her husband. Adam has done a good job of looking strong but we all know he is only human and in the weeks to come it will probably hit hard and I hope we are there to be a shoulder to lean and cry on.

On Thursday we were able to go to the visitation. It was a star struck event in the sense that the country stars were not physically there but because Emmie worked in the country music biz there were flower arrangements there from Vince and Amy Gill (Grant),George Strait, Reba Mctire, Trisha Yearwood and more. Then to top that Lean Womack sang at the funeral. We were unable to attend the funeral but from what I heard, they laughed, cried and heard the gospel. So we hold all the family in our prayers.

Now, on a more personal note we had a hard time realizing that we had to leave our son with an almost stranger but a blessing. The reason she is a blessing is because for the next two weeks day care is free. One of our Sunday school members moms was voluteered and accepted to watch Bryson for the next two weeks till Nickie switches to another clinic. Mrs. Hart said no problem because the most exciting thing she does is go to Publix and watch Brad Praisley go into her next door neighbors to write songs. So blessing one and now for number two. Number two is that Nickie was moved to a clinic just down the road. The only problem that posed at first was day care because we had already put a deposit down at day care next where Nickie currently works. So when we got the news that she would be moving if she desired we frantically looked for a day care close to the new clinic and blessing three we found one. Not only did we find another day care but a day care only a couple miles away from where she would be working. Then we got even better news it was cheaper. So starting November 10 (boy that day sounds familiar, oh ya it's my birthday, it's my birthday so were going to party likes it's my Birthday, sorry got carried away) Nickie will be going only 10 minutes down the road to work. So what a blessing. Another blessing is that Nickie will be able to go to the day care at lunch and feed Bryson. God is good.

So after all that on Saturday we were able to get out and have some much needed fun after that emotional roller coaster. We first went to one of the Partners home where Nickie works and cooked some hotdogs, smores and hung out with her coworkers and such. Then we went back to our development to hang out at our fall festival and then we went to one of our sunday school members homes to hang and remember our friend and the good memories.

So with all have I poured on you I hope you can decypher it all and realize that life is short so love on one another and God still works out big and small blessings everyday.

We are here

Although, I am getting more sleep than Nickie I am still struggling but I need this. I need to be stretched and taken out of my comfort zone and this is the ticket. I really do feel that raising a child is Gods way of showing us how he feels about us. He has to get tired of us doing the same things over and over but in the end still loves us just the same. Quite amazing.

Well, this was a very fun week with my folks. Mom and Dad got in Saturday afternoon because they left PA at 6:30 am. So we got them and their belongings inside and started to chill when Dad says hey lets go to the Opry. So we did and had a good time. Nickie went to which was the first time away from Bryson for such a long time. She was doing good until Kenny Rogers played and dedicated a song to his wife and kids and as soon as they showed a pic of his twins when they were born she was done. The river came from her eyes and she squeezed me tight.

Sunday we cheated and watched the sermon on the web. That could make you lazy but I promise Mike if I did stay home I would still tithe. So then later we went to Costco which next to the Mac store is the coolest place ever. We got some goods and went home.

Monday was another day at the office but that evening I helped a friend put some stuff in storage for his friend. Then during the day Mom and Dad got Nickie out of the house and took her to multiple stores.

Tuesday Mom and Dad got Nickie out and about again. Just their way of spoiling her and the baby.

Wednesday Mom went with Nickie down to a possible day care and to Nickie's clinic to show off Bryson. Now while Mom and Nickie were out and about Dad decided to have some ice cream which is really no big deal until you forget to put it away. So when Nickie and mom came back the ice cream was all over the counter. So dad was busted.

Thursday was a chill day for the rest of the fam well sort of. I forgot some keys that I needed for work so dad said he would bring them to me. Unfortuanately his car battery was dead so he grabbed our truck and brought them to me after getting lost. He then had to go get a new battery. I then went to work at a club where they keep me job security because they are constantly blowing their equiment up. I ended up working a late day but that was okay because I took Friday off and knew it would be worth it.

Friday we slept in sort of then mom and Nickie went down the road to drop off paper work for another day care we may use. When they got back we went and had some good southern cooking at a restaurant called Sweet Tea. It's good thats all I got say. After we filled our tummys we went to the Opry Mills mall and walked it off. I got some new tennis shoes, my dad and I got some pants and mom looked at her sleep number bed that she has been dreaming about and she told me today she called and placed the order. After walking and shopping we headed home and stopped to get gas where I found that my battery was't doing so good. We were able to get a jump and get home.

Saturday was a sad day because mom and dad had to head home. We tried to get them to stay longer but that did not work. Oh well we will be seeing them in a few weeks. The rest of the day Nickie and I just chilled and piddled around the house.

Today we tried to sleep in but that did not work. So I got up and made pankcakes and bacon. After that I decided I should take the truck to Walmart. So I had them change the oil, rotate and balance tires and change the battery. Well the knuckle head put the battery in but did not put the bracket back on. So I asked why not and he said he couldn't and that he didn't know what to do and walked away. So I showed someone else and he acted like he was going to do something but didn't. Then what seemed to be the head tech came out and looked at it and said lets try a smaller battery. So we find another battery to put in and after he set it in I said pull that out I just noticed something. Here someone had changed the battery before and the battery they had was to short to fit in the bracket so they put a piece of wood in the bottom to lift it up to fit. So it took me the customer to realize this amongst three quote techs at Walmart. So that was our week. Until next time.

Struggling in Week 4

Wow, I am so sorry. I just realized it's Monday and I did not do my blog. So ya, it was the week of the big debate. Well all I can say is Nashville had to be hottest place in the world for that hour and a half. Reason being I have never heard so much hot air in my life. Ok nuff said.

It was an interesting week. Monday I set up at Al Gores house for his litte fundraiser for Obama. We had moved everything a hundred times and finally got it right and then Tuesday it rained. So we had to move everything again to get it under the tent because they only got one tent for the people and not the talent which was Michael McDonald. Well, come time for the event we were ready and the show went on. Then on Wednesday we came back and tore it all down. Then I came home to a nice dinner from one of our Sunday School friends.

On Thursday, Nickie, her Doula, and Bryson all went to Vanderbilt to have Bryson's hips analyzed via an ultrasound. All was well and then they all went shopping and ate lunch at Panera Bread. That was very nice of her Doula to do that because it got her out of the house. Now, if you are wondering what a Doula is just click on the word and it will tell ya.

Friday was nothing special besides the fact it was Friday which meant the weekend was here.

Saturday we spent the day cleaning and getting ready for my mom and dad. They got to our house a little after 4 pm. We had a good time just chilling and then dad says hey why don't we go to the Opry. So, we called and they still had tickets. We got home like 1 am which was 2 am for mom and dad. I have never seen my parents at that time in the morning. Funny thing was they didn't look any different.

Well I hope you had a good week and we will try to survive another one with this little one. This week I will leave you with a link to Nickie's Picasa because I think she has posted some pics that I haven't. She is starting to figure things out and take away all my fun. LOL.

Happy blogging

Week Three

Well, another week has come and gone. We are more tired than the first week. It has gotten a little better but not perfect yet. Although we have been told by many to enjoy these moments because in the words of Trace Adkins or whoever wrote the song "Your gonna miss this". So I can't wait to miss this. LOL

This week was a crazy week. Work was for a lack of better words crazy. Wednesday I spent a good part of the day looking at a computer because my boss is trying to set it up so that I can make invoices and the such at the shop but update his office computer at home. Well you know how stuff like that goes. Needless to say we haven't figured it out yet. Thursday we wanted to go up to a church in KY and demonstrate a remote controlled camera head so that one person could control multiple cameras at one time. The unfortuanate part is that you have to have a camera that will hook up to the remote head and if it doesn't then it doesn't. So we had our hands on one but it was not going to be available when we needed it so that created a headache and we knew of a camera that was available but according to the makers website that camera was not supported.

So now its Thursday which was the same day that Nickie and I were going to an open house for a day care that we might take Bryson to and I was supposed to go to KY but didn't because we couldn't find a camera yet. After we went to the day care I felt good about the place but my heart was saddened because I have to let a total stranger take care of my child. I'd have to say that it hurt worse than I thought it would:(.

Well now its friday and after a conversation with the designer of the remote cotrolled camera head we found out the camera we had did work as long as it had a smaller lense on it. So it was a weight issue and not a compatability issue. So of course we did not find this out till Friday morning. So we got a late start getting to the customer which made us get back to Nashville later. So after I got home showerd, ate, and went to bed but did not sleep for some reason. Then I had to get up at4:30 am to run audio for the Breast cancer walk in Nashville. I don't know all the groups that performed but of the three stages one was Shedaisy who is mangaged by a former sunday school friend and then my stage was a couple of local guys. They were pretty cool and easy going.

So the rest of Saturday I tried to get some rest and that backfired. We did however have some friends over who haven't had a chance to see Bryson. They brought Nickie a chocolate shake so that made her really happy. We had a good time chatting and hanging out.

Sunday I thought was going to be a lazy day but we ended up going shopping at Aldis to get some much needed food and then some friends who were going to bring dinner over tomorrow called us up and said would you A. want us to bring dinner over tomorrow like we planned or B. you come over tonight and have dinner with us. Well I knew if they brought us dinner tomorrow we would have left overs but at the same time we have been wanting to hang out with couple for a while so we went with A. We had a really good dinner and most important time out of the house with good friends. Now you want to know why they invited us. Well not just because they are good people but because the wife read my blog :) and rememered that I said Nickie was getting stir crazy. So we got a two for the price of one by getting out of the house and getting some good eats.

So we ejoyed our dinner then moved on to dessert and then Bryson realized we weren't home and he opened his pipes. Mommy gave him some milk but that didn't seem to work. The ride home wasn't fun either. We got home and all was well. Crazy, well anyway a new week is upon us and lets hope it goes better.

Well toodles and happy blogging.
